Hi. I want to try it. I love them and I just got cut off from my major suppliers.
Wiz ignores my please. Nel just disregard it totally. Chaos is always busy and Itachi has to have his arm twisted for one.

I want to make my own sigs or at least try. Can someone help me.

I don't know where to start.

first thing would be getting photoshop or a similar program. if you already have it then get your stock image or render, whatever. make a new document in whatever size u want and start playing with brushes, filters, etc. sorry, i'm not good at explaining. i'm pretty sure you can get some easy tutorials on google.

Yup, I tend to ignore requests I don't get.. xD

Well, I'd say it'd be easiest for you to download the free program GIMP, seeing as it's a) free and b) a lot easier to use than PS (or so I've heard xD)

You can do a lot by just experimenting, but to start up by using tutorials isn't exactly a bad move either xD
Useful links:
Official GIMP tutorials (http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/)
A site with more specific tutorials, like sig-making (http://www.gimp-tutorials.com/)

hmm like they said get a program,

then go to google and type

'<program name here> tutorials' and press enter

or if you find one of MSN I am sure we could guide you through some basic stuff, after you learn some basic stuff you can start experimenting on a lot of things that you have learnt.

Nel just disregard it totally.
MUAHAHA
*cough*

j/k, no really, look; it's not that I don't want to make sigs for you, it's just that.. I suck at it! xD
I mean, it's horribly difficult for me to make a sig for someone, because I get all stressed up, wondering whether he/she will like the effects or not, and so on. I can try, but then, PM me the exact details + picture + size and colours you want + text.

As for learning yourself, well, basically you have two choices;

A.) GIMP; Unfortunately, I don't know how to use, or more exactly, I never tried to download it and use it xD;; As Merlin said, I heard it's easier than Photoshop, but quite sadly it's also way more limited, whilst Photoshop has much more awesome effects than GIMP.

B.) Photoshop is the programm I'd personally recommend you. I, myself, has never used ANY tutorial and has never asked anybody for help, so everything I've done so far with Photoshop (sigs, banners, etc..) is only thanks to me, experimenting with Photoshop, trying random buttons, seeing if I like the effects, etc... Of course, I'm still learning how to use it, but that's like learning a language; the more you practice, the better you get.

Just for the basics, first off all, I recommend you to download it, then choose a picture (absolutely any kind of picture), then choose a size for the sig (my personal choice is 400 x 150, but you do as you wish), then open a new window in photoshop, stick the picture in that window and try out some different buttons, just to get accustomed with how Photoshop works.

Of course, tutorials always help (or so I've heard from people like Luni xD), but I myself never used them, so I can't really judge. I heard you can find some pretty awesome and easy-to-understand ones on DeviantArt.

Yay that's great that you want to make your own signatures! Haha everyone else has already covered the basics of where to start off.

As for programs it really does not matter what you start off with as long as you have the capability of having the functions of layers and blendemodes everything else can be derived from that ;D. The end result really depends on your skill and creativity. So with any program that you choose you have to keep in mind YOUR FIRST RESULT WILL NOT BE AMAZING but you will still be proud of it :p. Don't set your expectations too high... It's a gradual process to start off.

Then I would suggest you familiarize yourself with how to use Layers, Blendmodes, and Textures.

photoshop is the best for graphics design. don't ever use gimp. thats my advice.
add me on msn, j-anime-crave@hotmail.com and i'll try my best to help you out. These things you have to learn on your own. At least that's what i did 3 years ago.

I HAD CS3 (using past tense cos I don't have my computer T_T)

Anyway, Itachi told me to never use more than 1 render cos it drowns each other out, Kae told me not to make the font not to stand out too much, and OD just experiment with different buttons like everybody says and the thing that is great about Adobe you can go back to almost the very beginning instead of like with paint where if you make a mistake over 3 times you can't erase it cos you can only go back 3 times

Some pointers:

DON'T MERGE LAYERS!!! Ever. Even if the tutorial says to, don't.
Making a new layer, and "flattening" the image (Ctrl-Shift-Alt-E) and adding a filter such as "ripple" or "ocean waves" and erasing the bad looking parts, and the stuff covering the focal really looks good.
Setting gradient layers on overlay or softlight (Those are blending modes) looks really good as well.
Practice with the pen tool, cool things can be done with it. It takes a bit of time to learn, but it can be your friend.
A lot of the time, the best text isn't the one that looks the coolest. Arial, Times New Roman and Impact are usually good choices. But also don't limit yourself to just those.
Make sure you have some depth in the sig. Meaning it looks 3-D, like there is a distant background. This is just something you kinda have to decide for yourself.

I think thats a good starting list. Any questions, just ask. Have fun!
